Oak coffin grave found in a grave mound in Skrydstrup, South Jutland. The deceased was an 18 year old woman, 170cm tall, slim, with ash-blond hair with a reddish tint. Her face was long and narrow, her eyelashes long, her nose thin and her teeth large and well-formed. The hair was done up into an elaborate coiffure and covered by a hairnet. She had gold rings fastened to either ear. This young woman was buried in the early summer. She was dressed in a blouse with embroidery on the elbow-length sleeves. A long piece of material, gathered by a belt, covered her from the waist to the feeth. On excavation, only a few slight traces of the coffin were found. The dead woman is exhibited here in an oak coffin from Uge in South Jutland.
Notes:
Cloathing originally grey, and belt possibly white (now yellowish tan,
like the cloak on the man of Trindhøj).
