Oak coffin grave found at Mjuldberg near Ringkøbing, West Jutland. The deceased was a young man who was buried with his bronze sword in a wooden scabbard. The man was dressed in a 94 cm long jerkin, wound around the body and fastened over the shoulders by leather straps. Around his waist the man had a leather belt held together by a horn button (app. 3cm), and on his head a round cap. His costum also comprised a knee-length cloak of dark wool. He had leather shoes on his feet. Pieces of material aroun his ankles protected them from chafing of leather straps which kept his shoes on.

Notes:

Clothing partially felted, but threads clearly visible. Cloak edges have a finish, but hard to recognize. Jerkin edge has one row button-hole stitching. Bronze button discs, app. 4 and 4.5 cm diameter, fastening pins around 10-12cm.
