This is one of the bronze sword festival rapiers, that I finished for someone else. The blade had the edges beveled and hardened at the festival. I've cleaned up and polished the blade, and shapened the edges. The hilt is made from ash, and copies the known rapier hilts in shape. The hilt is coated in lineseed oil.

I also made a scabbard for this rapier. Of the original scabbards, only some imprints of wood fibers, identified as being hazel are preserved. So I also used hazel for the scabbard. The leather wrapping is based of several sword scabbards found in Denmark. For the baldric, I looked farther, at a Greek depiction of swords on a vase showing the horse of Troy. As I had to make the belt in two parts, due to available length of the leather, I used a (Danish style) double headed wooden button. The whole scabbard is coated in lineseed oil.
