Model
| The model to make the mouls is made from clay and sand. |
Mould
| The mould is made from clay and sand. The mould consists of two halves and a core. The entire mould is packed in a mix of clay, sand and dung and after drying the mould was fired. |
Casting result

Here you can see the cast axe as it came out of the mould. The axe was cast in Ireland, during the Umha Aios symposium. |
Finishing

The cast result was somewhat poor. The surface was quite rough and the axe has quite a bit of porosity. Therefore I'm finishing it with modern tools. Here you can see the axe after partly finishing. |
